I’m Calvino Miguel, I create digital products that people love.

As a kid, I arrived in Switzerland as a refugee with my family. We didn’t have much, so I had to learn early on how to make things work with what was available. That’s when I fell in love with building things. I’ll never forget my first "engineering project": assembling a bicycle from scrapyard parts because we couldn’t afford one. It wasn’t the prettiest bike, but it worked, and it sparked something in me—this drive to create.

From there, my curiosity led me to explore a wide range of skills. Starting with design, I kept building and learning, creating small home projects like lamp systems and building my own PC. My passion for doing and making eventually evolved into starting businesses. My first ventures included a breakfast courier service (which had questionable logistics but excellent pastries) and later, my first bootstrapped startup, ipaster. It was an online platform where people could book trained cleaning professionals. My friend Larklind and I built it, grew it, and eventually sold it around 2018–2019.

Necessity has always been my best teacher. To launch ipaster, I had to dive headfirst into software programming. I wrote code for our platform and learned as I went, leaving my unmistakable handprint on every line. That experience placed me right at the intersection of business, design, and software—and I’ve loved living there ever since.

Today, I’ve had the privilege of working with national and international organizations in roles ranging from volunteer to contractor, co-founder, and employee. Each experience has sharpened my skills and broadened my perspective.

Outside of work, I’m a curious spirit. I love reading, podcasts, singing, playing guitar, and occasionally playing football (though I can’t promise I’ll pass the ball). And here’s a fun fact to cap it off: When I was five, I decided to teach my parents a lesson for not letting me play outside. So, I hid under their bed the entire day. By 11 PM, they were ready to call the police because the whole village had been out searching for me. My aunt finally checked under the bed and found me. Let’s just say my parents’ relief didn’t spare me from the scolding I had coming. 😂
